How a Dreamlight Valley save editor works

Learn the difference between supported save editing, managed services and in-game purchases before choosing a tool.

Editing a save is different from buying game content

A save editor reads compatible player data, presents supported changes and writes the resulting state back through its save workflow. Starlight Studio is an independent Windows application for this purpose. It is not an official Disney or Gameloft product, and it does not turn a software license into a purchase of game DLC or Moonstones.

The editable categories and safe operations depend on the application version, the game version and the loaded profile. Availability of a collection category does not mean every item in the game can be added safely. Protected and quest-sensitive records require particular care.

A deliberate editing session

The practical sequence is: identify your save, make a backup, open it in the editor, prepare a small set of supported changes, review warnings and save. Starlight Studio separates staged changes from the final save action and offers Save Health and backup tools.

Afterwards, check the result in game. Avoid changing several unrelated systems at once: small sessions make it easier to understand what changed and to recover if a game update introduces incompatibility. No editor can guarantee freedom from bugs or future game changes.

Self-service or a managed order?

Choose Studio if you have a Windows PC, a compatible accessible save and want to manage supported changes yourself within your plan limits. A managed save service is a separate purchase: you choose a defined package and Starlight Select reviews the platform and handles the agreed work.

Neither option is an instant solution for every console workflow. Read the service requirements or ask support before purchasing when your platform, cloud history or file format is uncertain.
